• now allowed in other states as well
  • < 20% of forest lands
• if host state ➡️ has the required forest cover as per National Forest Policy 1988
  • can move to other states for the needed Compensatory Afforestation

• for Great Nicobar Project
  • Compensatory Afforestation being done in Haryana
    • near aravallis ➡️ Thar Desert
    • only 9 % of forest land is present
