  • for all ppl, not just WEMC interest
• Bengal: Indian Association 1876
  • by Surendra Nath Bannerjee to represent people
  • chose to call it “Indian Association” and not “Bengali Association”
    • $⟹$ modern nationalism element
• Punjab: Lahore Indian Association 1878
